Piment, (Surinaams-Nederlands) lontai, (Pimenta dioica) is een plant en specerij uit Midden-Amerika en West-Indië. Piment is ook wel bekend onder de naam Jamaicapeper, pimentbes, pimento, allspice, nagelpeper of nagelgruis.
The seeds are used in dried form, possibly ground. Allspice has an aroma of cloves, pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste is quite mild and less hot than black or white pepper.
It is used in eg in dishes or soups.
