Normally you put the glutinous rice on top of a banana leaf in the basket so that the rice does not stick to the basket itself, but you can also put it directly in the basket itself. Fill the basket with glutinous / ketan rice and place it over a pan of boiling water. After about 20-25 minutes of steaming, you have deliciously fragrant sticky rice!
